⬇ ESSENTIAL QUESTION ⬇
Drawing A Universe
I want practice in my strengths: acrylics, watercolor, digital, in addition to practicing combining mediums (markers, India ink pen) #3, #4 and #11 helped me experiment with perspective.#1 demonstrates experimentation of creating an aerial view of a plan, which I had never done before. #6 and #11 are explorations of creating a work that appears ancient. I used the process of coffee staining on top of graphite and burned the edges.
There are many revisions of compositions and working out of ideas in my sketchbook. I frequently double back to concepts and visuals present in other pieces from the investigation. #6 and objects in #8 are seen in #11. Birch trees are seen in both #8 and #9. #4 connects the settings of #2 and #3. I want the pieces to be able to connect in some way in order to establish that they are all occurring in the same universe.
